I spent decades in both public accounting and corporate finance, working with businesses of every size — from startups finding their footing to established companies navigating complex growth. That breadth taught me something most advisors miss: the numbers rarely lie, but they almost never tell the whole story.

That insight led me to pursue a PhD in Management, specializing in Leadership and Organizational Change. What I found confirmed what I had seen in practice — that the financial challenges businesses face are almost always connected to something happening at the human and organizational level. Leadership gaps. Unclear roles. Family dynamics spilling into operations. A team that has outgrown its structure.

Today, through DCKing Consulting PC, I bring both sides of that equation together for a select group of clients across Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina — family-owned businesses, growing small businesses, and nonprofits that need more than an accountant or a consultant. They need someone who can see the full picture.
